What Causes Wrinkles ?
Our
Natural Process of aging is that as we age our bodies skin cells
will begin to divide more slowly, and our dermis which is the
second layer of the skin which gives us our volume, will begin
to thin.
Wrinkles will begin to develop as we get older due to
our natural substances like collagen, Elastin and Hyaluronic acid
start to decrease.
Our ability to retain water in the skin will
decrease and our oil producing glands will begin to degenerate
which in turn will deprive our skin of its own water lipid emulsions
which is what helps protect our skin from its external factors.
As a result of this our skin will become drier, and our elastin
in the skin will weaken and when pressed it will no longer spring
back to its original position and instead it will sag and form
wrinkles.
In addition to this our habitual facial expressions
will also begin to develop contributing to the formation of
‘jowls’ and or, ‘drooping eyelids’. These are also described
as our characteristic
lines which can also radiate from the corner
of the eyes ( crows feet ) and form on the forehead ( frown
lines)
Pre Mature Aging can also occur as a result of over exposing our
skin to the sun.
Sun damage is about 90% accountable for the cause and effect of
prematurely aging skin, and the scary part is that most of the damage
is done by the age of 20.
Both UVA ( aging rays) and UVB ( burning
rays ) will cause or lead to wrinkles by damaging the skins natural
substance production of collagen, elastin and weakens the skins
immunity to fight off infections within the skin.
External Factors such as environmental changes, smoking, and pollution
will create free radicals within the skin which will lead to the
damage of our cell membranes and can potentially lead to the wrinkles
and more importantly skin cancers.
The effects of... Gravity Muscle action (creates dynamic wrinkles) Volume loss
Environmental damage e.g. Smoking Sun exposure ...all contribute
to the formation of forehead wrinkles.
